Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with an interest in Pelvic Floor, Barts Health Trust

We are looking for an experienced Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with subspecialty interest mainly in pelvic floor surgery to further develop our service. This is a new substantive post.
Key duties will be supervising and running outpatient clinics, operating lists and endoscopy lists, on call cover, and care for patients on wards in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including ward nurses and specialist nursing teams. The post-holder will be expected to develop an R&D portfolio in collaboration with academic surgical expertise within the Trust and contribute to mandatory audit activity.
The post will be based at the Royal London Hospital; however the post-holder may be required to work at other Barts Health sites by participation in a 1:8 emergency on call rota.
You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council and be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCT.
Essential criteria will also include proven clinical competency in pelvic floor surgery, laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and a track record of university or NHS R&D in these areas.
