Dear colleagues,

It gives me great pleasure to invite you to the 1st Athens Coloproctology Meeting, which will take place in Athens, Greece on 1st of April 2022 and is themed “Functional Bowel and Pelvic Floor Disorders for Colorectal and Pelvic Surgeon”. The meeting is aiming to attract trainees and specialists from various disciplines, such as colorectal surgeons, gynaecologists, urologists, gastroenterologists as well as allied health professionals.

The Greek Society of Coloproctology (GSCP) is committed to promoting education not only to domestic but also to an international audience. For this purpose GSCP is establishing strategic alliances with international societies and hence this meeting represents the joint effort and collaborative result with The Pelvic Floor Society (TPFS) of UK under the support of ACPGBI. The two societies brought together a fascinating program with expert speakers on their field from Europe, UK, Greece and Australia. The topics covered will include functional bowel disorders, including LARS and IBS, Multidisciplinary Team approach, conservative and surgical management of Pelvic Floor Disorders, such as prolapse, faecal incontinence and innovative techniques.

COVID-19 pandemic kept us apart for long period of time but also gave us the opportunity to establish new ways of communication and scientific knowledge spread. In line with current climate and gradual return to normality this meeting will represent an event to bring us together again and enjoy a high quality scientific program at the modern Amphitheatre of Henry Dunant Hospital.

I look forward to welcoming you in Athens in April.
